October 14th, 2021 - Changes to our classes this Sunday!

We are all set to begin our 2021-2022 classes this Sunday, October 17th, but with these changes to the original plan:

  1. Confirmation and adult formation classes are the only classes that have an in-person option.

  2. ALL OTHER classes will only be offered online.

  3. In-person classes will only be at St. John's and St. Joseph's, not at St. James'.

  4. Confirmation classes also have an online option.

See Programs & Info for more information.

October 14th, 2021 - Stepping down as Director

Some of you may have read in last week's bulletin that I am stepping down from my role as Director of Religious Education. It has been a wonderful year serving you all in the St. J's Collaborative; but after the birth of my baby daughter last month, I've been looking for a job that can provide regular work hours and more long-term stability than a ministerial position in the Church ever could. So beginning at the end of this month, I will be working at Sophia Institute Press, a Catholic publishing press in Nashua, NH. I will miss working with you and getting to know your families! Please know that my wife, Anna, my daughter, Magdalena, and I will still be around at Sunday Mass and in the Hannaford's aisle or the Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru line. I look forward to seeing you around the parish!

September 10th, 2021 - First class postponed to October 17th

Although we were gearing up to begin all our classes (in-person and online) on Sunday, September 19th, there are two main reasons why we have decided to postpone the first class until Sunday, October 17th.

  1. The Archdiocese of Boston is strongly recommending that parishes postpone in-person faith formation classes until October, due to the increased spread of Covid in our area.

  2. We are still working on solidifying a new Sunday Mass schedule, which will greatly impact the organization of our in-person classes.

Please spread the word to anyone you know who was interested in joining or has already registered for our program! I apologize for this last-minute change, but I trust that it will be for the best of all involved. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate our course through the pandemic and the beginning of our St. J's Collaborative. Looking forward to seeing you all in October!

September 7th, 2021 - Are you interested in online classes?

We're excited to be offering online, "on demand" versions of all classes this year, which students can complete during the week in which the class is posted on our Online Classes tab. These online classes are a substitute for the in-person classes, and vice versa. Are you planning on using the online classes for your children? Let me know at mrf@stjs.page, so we can be better prepared for this year's program. Thanks!

August 31st, 2021 - Please forgive my delays!

Thank you, all, for your patience as I transition out of the Business Manager position in the collaborative. I apologize for my long delays in replying to your emails and responding to your voicemails; I'm working on getting back to you as soon as I can. Please pray that we find someone new to manage our finances so that I can devote all of my time towards coordinating our religious education program this year!
